Enjoy a 2-hour surf lesson for beginners. Waist deep water, soft surfboard, and experienced instructors will make it easy for you to have an exciting time learning to surf. With the right equipment and good instruction, it is easier than you think. We love to see the faces of students who stand up for the first time.

Meeting and pickup

Meeting point

Find the toilet block at the top of the ramp onto the beach. It is just off Surf Beach Drive and about 100 meters east of the Ocean Grove Surf Club. Look for our trailer nearby.

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

We will provide a full-length wetsuit and a soft beginner surfboard and once changed we will walk onto the beach. We begin with a safety briefing and some basic instructions before entering the water to catch some waves. After everyone catches some waves we return to the beach for more detailed instruction about standing up on the surfboard. The remainder of the time is spent catching waves with the instructor's help to get everyone standing up. At the finish of the lesson, we return to the trailer with all the boards and wetsuits.
