This wildlife reserve is visited by few number of wildlife lovers every year and is less crowded. Wild Water Buffaloes, Blue Bulls, Gangetic Dolphins, and Golden Jackals are the main attraction along with over 400 species of birds. One can explore the marshes on foot, inaccessible sandbanks and islands of the mighty Koshi River.
The park contains an ideal mix of river, ponds, wetlands and paddies, all of it cut by a long straight and paved trail, making navigation a breeze. Thin foliage further allows for long-distance viewing.

    Arrive at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Camp and begin half-day bird watching

    8 am: Pick up from Hotel in Kathmandu and drive to Kathmandu Domestic Airport Arrive at Biratnagar Airport. Meet and drive 1 hour to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Camp 1 pm: Enjoy the Lunch 3 pm: Go for Bird watching tour around Saptakoshi river on foot 7 pm: Dinner

    Early morning nature walk and full-day Jungle activities after breakfast

    5:30 am: Wakeup call 6 am: Morning nature walk in the vicinity 8 am: Breakfast 9 am - 6 pm: Raft boat on the upper part of Sapta Koshi River with naturalist to view some of the water birds, water buffaloes, dolphins and various water habitats. End boat trip by the bank of river and have picnic lunch. Short drive to the Koshi Barrage to view some bird life and fresh water dolphins. • Late afternoon return to the camp. (Please note: Koshi Barrage and surrounding area is wide and everyday guests will be taken to different areas). 7 pm: Dinner
