    Warmly welcomed by your private guide and driver, the day commences with heading straight out into the hectic traffic of Ho Chi Minh City. The morning starts with entering the Historic Museum, seen as the place to learn about how Vietnam evolved as a nation with character and culture. Officially called the Reunification Palace, this museum is next on our agenda. The whole complex includes underground communications bunkers, the former headquarters for the Saigon Government during the American War.

    War Remnants Museum

    Continue to visit the War Remnants Museum to see some wartime exhibits and graphic portrayal of the horrors of the war.

    Just before lunch, two unmissable landmarks will pass the review. The General Post office, designed by Alfred Foulhoux, and the Notre Dame Cathedral with its neo-Romanesque style and two 40-metre-high square steeples converted into the symbol of Saigon tick off our final visits to complete a total Saigon impression.

    In the city’s historic quarter, the chance to marvel at the beauty of landmark colonial buildings built by the French, such as former “Hôtel de Ville”, is a must for a touch of historical pride. Lunch will be served at a leading Vietnamese restaurant, where you will have a chance to sample local cuisine.

    Binh Tay Market

    Next, Chinatown is on our agenda. Each visitor will be greeted with a broad array of colours and swarmed streets once arriving at one of the most densely populated areas in District 1. You will satisfy your curiosity at Binh Tay market, always as busy as a beehive, where traders offer almost anything under the Vietnamese sun to potential customers.

    You will also visit the landmark Thien Hau Temple, dedicated to the Lady of the Sea, the powerful protector of fishermen. The temple is the spiritual centre for many of the of Chinese-descendant residents of Cho Lon. In the late afternoon, your own guide and driver for the day will transfer you back to your hotel.
