    Shwedagon Pagoda

Guests will meet your guide early in the morning. Although primarily crafted as a walking tour, an unmissable part of seeing the essence of Yangon cannot be missed lies slightly elevated in the very heart of the city and is reached by vehicle. The Shwedagon Pagoda, with its golden sphere, is the country’s most sacred landmark and is considered Myanmar’s national symbol.

    Strand Road

From here, we drive towards the Yangon River and onto Strand Road. This road runs from west to east and is home to many distinctive and significant buildings at the time the British ruled the country. Right here, the Pansodan Jetty is one of the local ferry terminals and is an area where one can get a glimpse into local life. Running perpendicular to Strand Road, Pansodan Street is one of the main roads where visitors can admire some of the city’s well-preserved buildings. Many of the buildings are now protected under city legislative and is the starting point of our walking tour. Named after the well-maintained park bearing the same name, Yangon’s Maha Bandoola Road is an important artery, connecting the city from east to west. Various landmarks are located along this road, such as Sule Pagoda and Independence Monument.

    Bogyoke Aung San Market

Through Shwe Bontha Street, known for its gold shops, Kon Zay Dan Street, and Shwedagon Pagoda Road, we reach Yangon’s Little India. Unofficially formed around Anawrahta Road, it is here where an abundance of Indian influences decorate the streets and alleys. Our exploration on foot ends here, whilst passing historical shop houses, at Bogyoke Market. An absolute delight for shopaholics is Bogyoke Market, also known as Scott’s Market. With its central location, hundreds of stalls offer anything under the sun and are open 6 days a week (Mondays and public holidays closed). It is from here where we meet up with your driver and make your way back to your Yangon hotel.
