This tour was the starting point for all other desert tours going to Erg-Chebbi Merzouga because it´s simply the best, anyone taking a 2 or a 3 days tour is only because they can´t take the 4 days tour ( time or price wise). This tour covers a lot of attractions, roads, sights, visits and at a comfortable pace without spending too much time in the car

    Marrakech-Atlas mountains - Ouarzazate - Skoura - Rose valley - Dades

    High Atlas Mountains

    We will cross the highest pass in Morocco with over 2200m through the windy roads with beautiful scenery and changing landscapes.

    Ouarzazate

    A pause in Ouarzazate for lunch and a visit to one or two attractions of the cinema ( studio, museum).

    We will take a small detour inside the palmeraie of Skoura to visit one of the best preserved kasbahs in the south, "kasbah Amridil" where you will have a local guide to take you in a tour of history

    Vallee Des Roses

    We will cross the valley of roses surrounding the town of Kelaat Mgouna, however the Damascina roses are only observable in the fields in late April and beginning of May

    Dades Gorges

    We will take a detour of the main road again to go up the dades valley with a couple of photo stops before reaching our hotel for the night

    Dades gorge - Todra gorges - Tinjdad - Erfoud - Merzouga

    Todra Gorge

    We will take another detour of the main road and go up the Todra gorges, once there, you will leave your car and take a short walk inside the gorges to take some pictures and enjoy the fresh air of the mountains.

    While near Erfoud, if you are interested by fossils, there are many places to stop and take a small tour and learn about the fossils found in Morocco, please keep in mind that most of these places are shops but you are not obliged to buy anything, you can enter and visit without buying.

    Merzouga Desert

    Once in Merzouga, you will get to the camel park, leave your car and driver to take the camel ride over the dunes to enjoy the wonderful sunset on the highest dunes before continuing to the camp, you will be welcomed with tea, get your tents to relax, there will be musical play around fire by the staff and dinner. The tents are private and equipped with ensuite bathroom and shower

    Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Nkoub - Agdez - Ouarzazate

    Stop for a bit in Rissani to take a short walk inside the local market, this is nothing like the souks in Marrakech or Fes, it's where actual locals buy and sell, probably the most authentic souk you can visit as a tourist.

    We will continue towards the Dra’a Valley passing the villages of Alnif, Tazzarine (featured in the film ‘Babel’) and Nkob, passing more oases and traditional villages. You will have the time to stretch your legs and admire the view of the vast Oasis of the Draa Valley with its thousands of date palms, producing an amazing 44 varieties.

    Ouarzazate

    After lunch in Agdez we will cross the Anti Atlas, Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass 1600m, this is part of the ancient road of the caravans which used to suply goods up from Mali and Niger having crossed the Sahara. Arrive to Ouarzazate check in to your Hotel and free afternoon to spend at your leisure.

    Ouarzazate - Ait benhaddou - Telouet - Marrakech

    After breakfast, we visit Kasbah Taourirt in the town, which belonged to the Glaoui family, the Pashas of Marrakech. Join a film studio tour and discover which of your favorite movies were filmed in the nearby desert regions.

    Ait Ben Haddou

    Continue to the Unseco world heritage site "Ait benhaddou village", the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs.Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural scenery for many movie producers. Join an hour guided visit of the Kasbahs and discover The Ksar and climb to the top of the hill through the alleys of Ait-ben-Haddou.

    From here, you drive along the beautiful and awe-inspiring Ounila Valley, full of bends in the roads, surprises at the hues of the rock and soil, Berber villages and gardens, as well as smaller Kasbahs until you reach Telouet, the main seat of the Glaoui Family.
