This monastery, officially known as the Monastery of Saint Mary of the Victory (Mosteiro de Santa Maria da Vitória), is a stunning Gothic and Manueline-style architectural masterpiece located in the town of Batalha, Portugal. It was built to commemorate the Portuguese victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota (1385) against the Castilian forces. The monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of Portugal's most important historical landmarks.
Nazaré is a picturesque coastal town located in central Portugal, famous for its stunning beaches, traditional fishing culture, and record-breaking giant waves, making it a world-renowned destination for surfers. It is particularly well-known for Praia do Norte (North Beach), where surfers ride some of the largest waves in the world, thanks to the Nazaré Canyon, an underwater geological phenomenon.
The Town of Óbidos is a small and charming medieval town located in central Portugal, approximately 85 kilometers (53 miles) north of Lisbon. Known for its rich history, Óbidos is one of Portugal’s most picturesque and well-preserved historical towns, often referred to as a "living museum." The town is surrounded by impressive stone walls dating back to the 12th century, and its centerpiece is the Castle of Óbidos, which now functions as a luxurious pousada (a historical hotel). Visitors can stroll through narrow cobblestone streets lined with whitewashed houses adorned with colorful flowers and painted details in blue and yellow, which are traditional Portuguese colors.
