Tossa is a true open-air museum. Its prehistoric remains give way to Roman Turissa, medieval Tursa, and a modern Tossa that first became a refuge for artists and intellectuals and later a generous host to tourists and visitors.
We will walk along a wall with more than eight centuries of history. The fortified enclosure of the Vila Vella is the emblem of the town. It preserves almost the entirety of its original perimeter, with crenellated walls.
We will discover the old smuggling routes, the coastal paths known as *Caminos de Ronda*.
We will take a stroll through the old fishermen’s quarter, Sa Roqueta, with its humble, whitewashed houses typical of the Mediterranean. Today it is a commercial area, full of small shops tucked away in its narrow streets.
After this guided visit, if you are interested in gastronomy, try *cim i tomba*, Tossa’s most traditional seafood dish.
Enjoy the beach or do some shopping during the free time we will have before returning to Girona.
