Your place of stay in Tbilisi
Pick up from the hotel and departure to Kakheti region. Your first stop is Signagi – a town surrounded by 18th century city wall with defensive fortifications.
Take a short walk in Signagi and afterwards drive to Velistsikhe to visit local wine cellar and museum of Numisi, the oldest wine cellar in Kakheti, dating back to 16th century. Have a wine tasting of red and white Kvevri wines.
Continue to Kvareli town and visit a wine cellar located in a tunnel dug out of the flank of Caucasus Mountains and taste wines made according to European methods of wine-making. The temperature in the Tunnel stays ideally at 12-14 degrees throughout the year. It consists of two main tunnels, which are linked by 13 galleries. The wine cellar is used to store wines by Winery Khareba.
After breakfast continue exploration of Kakheti. First drive to Tsinandali town and visit the residence of the 19th c. Kakheti nobleman, poet and public figure, Alexander Chavchavadze. Take an excursion in house-museum and taste a glass of finest Tsinandali cellar wine.
Our next wine stop is Shumi Winery, located in the village of Tsinandali, just a five-minute walk from the Chavchavadze Estate. Shumi features a small wine museum and a wine garden. During our visit, we'll sample three varieties of wine.
Our tour continues with a visit to the Chubini family winery. Here, you'll get to taste three different types of wines and learn about the winemaking process from a local family. Enjoy the flavors and hospitality of the Chubini family as you explore their vineyard and sample their wines.
In the evening, arrive to Tbilisi, drop of to the hotel.
