Enjoy a full-day journey from Rome, through the Chianti hills, to visit the cities of Siena and San Gimignano. Siena is a beautiful medieval city in Italy, you will visit the heart of city and the central square, “Piazza del Campo” where the famous Palio takes place, a medieval-style horse race. Siena is famous for its wine but and for its sweets: the “Panpepato”, “Panforte”, “Ricciarelli”. Continuation to San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known as “The City of the Hundred Towers” and it still maintains its original features and timeless charm. Furthermore, the name ‘San Gimignano’ is linked to one of the most historical Tuscan wines:” La Vernaccia". After we stop for a tasting of wines and local products in a beautiful cellar, visit the estate and the Cellars where wine production and grape processing takes place. the tasting includes 10 different types of wine and a lunch based on typical local products.

    Basilica Cateriniana Di S. Domenico

    The Basilica of San Domenico is one of the most important churches in Siena and is located between the square of San Domenico and Via della Sapienza. Built in the 13th century, it was enlarged in the following century. It contains the head-relic of Saint Catherine of Siena, inside a splendid Renaissance chapel built for the occasion.

    Duomo di Siena

    Duomo di Siena (visit outside), is a medieval church in Siena, Italy, dedicated from its earliest days as a Roman Catholic Marian church, and now dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. Built between 1214 and 1263, it has a Latin cross structure, a not very protruding dome with the bell tower next to it. Both the exterior and the interior are decorated in blocks of white marble which are alternated with thinner greenish black stripes, these are the representative colors of Siena.

    Centro Storico Di Siena

    It is the heart of the city of Siena, the fulcrum of the historic center declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Piazza del Campo has the shape of a shell divided into nine sections, in memory of the Nine Lords who governed the city at the end of the thirteenth century and amazes with its elegance and its unique shape in the world. Called this way because in the past it was a green space that hosted the market, Piazza del Campo today is the city's living room and the open-air arena where the famous Palio is run twice a year. Every year, on 2 July and 16 August, the piazza paved in pietra serena is covered with a layer of earth, composed of a mixture of tuff and sand, in which the horses of the districts challenge each other in a rapid race.
