cycle past most of the famous sites that make up Romes "to do" list.
Patheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona etc. But the beauty of our tour lies in how we get there...Its not easy to enjoy cycling through the city center where all the main sites since its full of people or cars.
With a little expertise and some luck however, its possibile to enjoy cycling through back streets and side alleys that bring us out into wide open piazzas and up close to these main sites.
Its great fun winding your way through the labyrinth that makes up the heart of Rome, suddenly finding yourself coming out in an open piazza overshadowed by the Pantheon (for example!).
0,03 mi from the "Colosseo" Metro station (Line B) - Next to the Carrefour Supermarket
fantastic view of the Colosseum at sunset
Famous square in Rome but its how you get there that makes it special.
Another famous site that is swamped by tourists, so its necessary to take back streets and side alleys to get close without having to push through the hords.
There is nothing spanish about these elegant flight of steps but its on our way to the Piazza del Popolo.
This main square in Rome is nestled up against the northern gate of Romes ancient city walls. Porta Flaminio. Its overlooked by the Pincio Balcony, home to the Borghese Gardens.
Coming up to the Pantheon from a little side street with it in full view as we cycle ever closer really adds to the effect of getting up close to the worlds most well preserved pagan temple.
Another of Romes historic 7 hills, but here we have a view over the old city center where the roman forum used to be.
