We pick you up from your Thamel based Hotel for your 25 minute flight to Pokhara. Then drive you to Sudame where you start your trek.
Fourty years ago when this tour was first conceived the road head finished at Nayapul. Now roads traverse deeper into the Himalayas so we take advantage of this to save you up to two days walking along dirt roads watching locals drive by to their villages
This shortened version of the Poon Hill Trek allows for you to see all the highlights of the traditional trek without the first and last day road walk.
The trip includes a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara on day (1) one and a Deluxe Bus Journey back to Kathmandu on day (5) five.
We will pick you up at your hotel reception. Please leave a contact number to confirm the exact time
We start the morning a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, You will be picked up at the airport then we drive from Pokhara, through the villages of Naya Pul and Birethanti an continue to our starting at Sudame were you trek for a short time through the village and cross your first suspension bridge. You then trek on to the aptly named 3000 steps as you traverse the mountainside and enter Himalayas, finally we make a stop at Banthanti for the night to rest our weary legs
Today is the easiest day of the trek as we make our way to the beautiful mountainside village of Ghorepani. This afternoon you can wander the village or take a rest at the hotel with a panoramic view of the Annapurna Ranges. (If you dont want to wait until morning you can climb Poon Hill or afternoon views and catch the sun set over the western ranges.)
Today is the most challenging day of the trek, but also the most rewarding. We start the day with a pre dawn climb to Poon Hill where the splendour of the Annapurna Himalayas slowly reveals itself to you as the suns rays slowly touch the majestic peaks of the Annapurna Himalayas. It may be hard to get up early and the weather may be cold, but the experience is well worth the effort. After Breakfast we continue trekking along the mountain ridges through the canopy of rhododendron trees toward the village of Tadapani for the night. You will be rewarded with spectacular views of Machhapuchchre (Fish Tail) Mountain as the sun sets.
This morning we make our way to the Gurang Village of Ghandruk walking through the forest of rhododendron trees and passing small waterfalls long the way. If it is open you can stop at the Ghandruk Museum before we grab a vehicle and head back to Pokhara via Birethanti where we complete our Poon Hill loop
Today we take you to the Pokhara bus park where we meet our Deluxe Bus service to Kathmandu. We will stop for a Nepali buffet along the way for lunch and should arrive in Kathmandu between 4pm and 7pm (subject to traffic)
