    Dunrobin Castle and Gardens

Dunrobin Castle & Gardens castle looks like it is straight out of a fairy-tale and set in the Scottish Highlands it looks magnificent. The Sutherland family, owners of Dunrobin Castle, allow guest to wander through many of its beautiful rooms which look like they have been frozen in time. The falconry display is often a highlight - Andy (the Falconer) has been working with birds of prey for over 25 years and his knowledge and passion shine throughout his presentation. Dunrobin Castle also has magnificent gardens a wonderfully unique museum and taxidermy collection.  A visit to the Scottish Highlands wouldn't be complete without visiting Dunrobin Castle & Gardens.

The adventure then heads south through Golspie and via Loch Fleet to Dornoch one of Scotland's most picturesque towns. Dornoch is home to a stunning golden sandy beach and a world class golf course but even without these things it just takes you to another time altogether. For those looking to buy souvenirs there are lots of quirky little shops selling everything from tweeds and cashmere to locally made, hand-crafted gifts, jewellery and works of art. Dornoch Cathedral also draws lots of visitors with a collection of beautiful stained glass windows. Dornoch is also a great place to stop for lunch with lots of options including a local bakery, a patisserie, a seafood truck on the beach, Milk & Honey and the Dornoch Castle Hotel which features an award winning whisky bar.
