Nottingham is famous for many things but historically it was always renowned for its lace. We will explore the old streets and lanes and learn the history of the old city itself.
This vibrant quarter of Nottingham is sometimes compared with Soho in London and it's not hard to see why when we walk through the streets with fashionable restaurants, pubs and shops.
Dominated by its magnificent old town hall, the Old Market Square is about 13,000 sq feet, one of the largest city squares anywhere. Host to lots of local events and with shopping streets fanning out in all directions and trams nipping by. Home to several icons of Nottingham and also to some incredible history that even many locals just walk right over without noticing.
Many locals don't even know this is here. The only surviving and visible ruins of the old medieval walls that once stretched more than a mile around the city.
This Roman Catholic Cathedral has some wonderful interiors and close connections with the Houses of Parliament in Westminster.
Explore this secretive and incredible Victorian tunnel from the City Centre to the gorgeous Park Estate. Please note the tunnel is flat but we only visit here if you are happy with walking up the steps back to the rest of the route! If not, no problem we carry on as usual.
