This tour visits the poignant Memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice in Postman's Park which remembers dozens of everyday people who lost their lives saving family, friends, and complete strangers.
We will visit locations where people lived and died who are commemorated in the memorial and visit parts of London other tours don't come close to seeing as we explore what life was like in Victorian times and remember some of the most tremendous acts of bravery imaginable that are now sadly all but forgotten.
We will also learn about the poverty of the times and how the sacrifices of these heroes helped bring about change that finally ended the suffering of these poor but brave and dignified Londoners.
Postman's Park is one of the spots in my Secret Gardens of the City of London Walk, a #1 ranking tour and book.
This new tour is connected to my latest book Angels of Postman's Park which is out in the Spring of 2023.
We can meet you at any hotel in Zone 1 (Central London) of the London Underground Map and travel by the Tube to the starting point. We can also meet you just outside St Pauls Underground Station where the tour starts from.

Now a fashionable and trendy area, Farringdon was once desperately poor and we will visit several locations related to people who died and are commemorated at Postman's Park
We will pass through this old meat market that has served London for getting on towards a millennia.
A tremendously historic location that few visit (except on our tours). Don't let the quiet backwater appearance it has now fool you as to what murky events it has seen.
A beautiful ancient gatehouse is the gateway to a fantastically old church and churchyard that you may well have seen on television shows and movies.
Along this stretch we will see where public executions took place outside the oldest court in the Western world. Note: Tour will take place outside the attraction.

Pass through what were lanes and alleys that have been closed for centuries but now London's newest urban chic shopping outlets.

Another of our Victorian Angels tragically lost their live here.
We will pass through this famous old market that was of course a great place to pick a pocket or two.
Possibly the only such place on the planet. A poignant spot that even today has connections with the poor, downtrodden and occasionally criminal elements of society who tragically lost their lives.
Learn about a Victorian lady who pioneered reform and spoke up for the poor of London. We will also see memorials to perhaps the most famous name remembered at Postman's Park.
We will end this tour with a walk through some truly forgotten backstreets in this firmly tourist-free zone but that just makes it more charming and a more authentic experience for you. Our last spot will be the place where Alice Ayres died saving the lives of children. A story that touched the world and one that will ensure the bravery of 'Our Alice' lives on.
