Vietnam has always had some good vegetarian food and now its getting quite popular, as it is in many parts of the world, and as such, many vegetarian restaurants have opened and become quite successful here in Hanoi with both locals and visitors while on the street and in the "normal" restaurants, vegetarian options are quickly becoming the norm on any menu. It comes in all flavors for all tastes as well. Some has been in the vegetarian's menus for a very long time while some meat substitutes and newer dishes invite those with more traditional palettes to come and try. This tour will explore both the new and old and we hope to please and surprise you with the many options now available. Vegetarian is not just rice and veggies anymore. What to expect
The old quarter in Hanoi is over one thousand years old and today retains much of the old flavor that made the area special in earlier times. Each street was the exclusive domain of one trade (guilds) so there are whole streets of blacksmiths, silver shops, paper shops, headstone makers and more. Originally there were just 36 streets in the old quarter but today there are more than 50 streets. Although many of the streets are short, and the area is rather compact.
