Ek Balam is a Mayan archaeological site in Yucatan, Mexico. It is located 30 km north of the city of Valladolid. The name Ek Balam has many meanings, but it is commonly considered as “dark or black jaguar” or “bright start-jaguar”.
After that, you will continue to Valladolid. Valladolid is located east of Yucatán, 169 km from Mérida, capital of the state of Valladolid. Its name refers to a tribute to the Iberian city since it was founded by the Spanish in 1543. In 2012, Valladolid was considered as “Magical Town of Mexico”.
