Garni temple-Geghard monastery-Lake Sevan

Continue your journey to Garni Pagan Temple, the only one on the territory of the former USSR. Dating back to the 1st century AD, it features Greco-Roman style architecture and is beautifully located on the edge of the gorge of the River Azat.

Next, visit the Symphony of the Stones, hexagonal basalt columns with a naturally complicated formation. Continue your introduction to the history and culture of Armenia with a master class in baking Armenian national bread, lavash. Taste it with cheese and greens.

Your next stop is the Geghard Monastery, the first in UNESCO World Heritage. Founded in the 4th century AD by Gregory the Illuminator, the person who made Armenia the first Christian country in the world in 301 AD, the main complex of this monastery dates back to the 13th century AD and is partly hewn into one solid rock.
