    Driving to Berat. It is a 2.5 hours’ drive until we reach Berat. The tour starts in the lower part of the city. Visit the Bachelor’s Mosque. The 19th-century Bachelors' Mosque is down by the Osumi River. It was built for unmarried shop assistants and junior craftsmen, and is perched between some fine Ottoman-era shopfronts along the river.

    Berat Castle

    The narrow stone paths go uphill in-between characteristic houses. It is where local ladies are selling traditionally handcrafted linen dating from their grandmother’s times. Some of the ladies will introduce us to some of the techniques of how they handcrafted all the linens. What makes the city and especially the castle more interesting is the fact that people are still living there, as centuries before. Berat Castle, also referred to as the Citadel of Berat and castle quarter, is a fortress overlooking the town of Berat.

    National Iconographic Museum Onufri

    Visit the "Onufri" Museum dedicated to Byzantine art and iconography, located inside the castle. Onufri was the most famous church painter. Unique in his style for the mix of red, orange and gold color, a technique that it is still undiscovered.

    Visit the Ethnographic Museum, situated within a striking, typical 18th century two-story Berat residence, that contains a diversity of everyday objects from throughout history of the city.

    Gorica Bridge over the Osum river is a landmark in the city of Berat, Albania. It is one of the oldest and most popular Ottoman bridges in Albania.

    Quarter Of Gorica

    Quarter of Gorica, the ancient quarter is a small grouping of old homes and buildings on the side of hill. They are notable for their half-whitewashed stone walls and many windows facing the river. Drive back to Tirana. Driving time around 2.5 hours.
