We pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap!
We will meet you at your hotel’s lobby and brief you on the tour itinerary and routing. Then, we jump in the US Army jeep and drive for the city orientation including the Royal Residence and Wat Bo monastery.
After that, we drive to checkpoint in order to purchase the temple ticket where we use it for visiting the temples. Watch sunset @ a 10th century Hindu temple, Pre Rup, for an overview of Khmer architecture from the materials of brick, laterite, and sunstone at the end of the day. After sunset, we drive back to the hotel.
4:30 AM: pick up from your hotel, begin with sunrise at Angkor Wat, you will be amazed by the peace and quiet before the major tour groups arrive. Contemplate the meaning as the sun gently washes over the jungle, and your guide begins to share the story of this great place. Angkor Wat means "City of Pagoda" and was changed from the original Parama Vishnuloka.
As the sun moves higher, you will head to the beautiful Ta Prohm temple, which is embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees in the jungle; it is well-known as Tomb Raider filmed inside. Ta Prohm was a Mahayana Buddhist temple dating back to 1186 AD which was also served as the ancient university of Khmer Empire.
Continue to visit Banteay Srei temple which is 45minutes away, it's the most beautiful intricate carving temple among over the country. Banteay Srei means the city of women, is known as the pink sandstone temple to be built in the 10th century. It's a well-preserved temple.
After Banteay Srei, drive back to visit the impressive Bayon temple, located in the heart of Angkor Thom, was served as the state temple of King Jayavarman IV. Bayon consists of 49 towers with 4 gigantic faces of Buddha/gods that represent 4 divine states of mines such as Love, Compassion, Sympathy, and Equanimity. It's time to learn the principles of Buddhism and the daily lives of Khmer peoples, which are carved on the stones of Bayon.
