This 4 days Tour takes you to the renowned Akagera National Park for a game drive and boat ride, Mountain gorilla tracking in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a habitat with a minimum of 400 mountain gorillas which is close to a half of the 880 numbers that are known to thrive in the world. The gorilla destination of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is also a rich habitat for Afro-montane flora, counts of birds including the African broad-bill which is found in Ruhija and Congo, the forest animals like duikers and forest elephants. The magical hills offer impressive scenery and sightseeing experience. The recreation encounter on Lake Bunyonyi known as the Lake of a thousand Islands because of its 29 Islands presents moments of rejuvenation following a day long gorilla trekking experience.

    Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park

    Akagera National Park

    After breakfast you will be picked by our safari guide who will transfer you to Akagera National Park in the eastern part of Rwanda. The drive is approximately 2½ hours. On arrival, you will go for a nature walk after which you will have lunch at Akagera Game Lodge. In the afternoon you will go for a canoe ride on Lake Ihema to see aquatic animals such as Hippos, Crocodiles as well as water birds like the papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle. You will be returned to your lodge for dinner and overnight at

    After breakfast, you will go for the early morning game drive to see wildlife such as elephants, impala, black-tailed mongoose, hippos, oribi, bushbuck, antelope, zebra, cape eland, giraffe, buffalo, and also primates like the olive baboon, vervet monkey, bush baby etc. Afterwards head to border for clearance to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda where we will do our gorilla trekking.     Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

    Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Watching Entebbe

    After an early morning breakfast, walk to the park headquarters for briefing on the do's and don’ts during gorilla tracking and thereafter you will proceed to the gorilla trail. Gorilla tracking normally lasts between 2 to 8 hours or even a day to encounter the gorillas. However, you will be allowed to stay in the presence of these awesome apes for at least an hour. It is advisable that you carry packed lunch, which will be provided, as one cannot determine how long it may take to encounter the mountain gorillas. Later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, the drive will be through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather despite being near the Equator. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa [900 meters deep] and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzias free. Dinner and overnight will be at:

    After breakfast, you will take a boat ride on this lake tour different islands, before we head to another border this time Katuna border to cross to Rwanda, upon reaching will do Kigali City tour starting off with Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre visit.     Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Watching Entebbe

    After an early breakfast, you will set out for a Boat ride at Lake Bunyonyi. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa [900 meters deep] and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzias free this takes 2 hours, The landscape around the lake is made up of terraced hills protruding from the water’s edge. Bunyonyi means “place of little birds” and as the name suggests, there is plenty of bird life around the lake, afterwards we transfer to Kigali
