    The Temple of the sacred Tooth Relic is one of the most important Buddhist religious sites in Sri Lanka. The sacred Tooth of the Buddha is enshrined in this magnificent temple. The Kandy Lake, also called Kiri Muhuda or the ‘Sea of Milk’, in the heart of the city is an artificial lake that was built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.
