Directions: FROM CAPE TOWN
Take the N1 to Worcester.
From there, take the Route 62.
Just before you reach Oudtshoorn, turn right to Mossel Bay (R328).
Over the Olifants River Bridge, up a hill and turn right to Highgate Ostrich Show Farm Drive 2 km and Highgate Ostrich Show Farm will be on your left.
FROM GEORGE/KNYSNA/PORT ELIZABETH
Drive the N2, turn towards George.
Take turn off to Oudtshoorn.
Drive into Oudsthoorn.
Turn left at first traffic light, on R62.
Turn left to Mossel Bay (R328).
8 km, turn right to Volmoed.
Highgate Ostrich Show farm is 2 km on left.
FROM CAPE TOWN ON THE N2
Take the N2 from Cape Town direction George / Oudtshoorn.
The sign board will say George/PE. Turn left to Hartenbos / Oudtshoorn.
Follow sign boards to Oudtshoorn.
Drive over the Robinsons pass
About 10 km before Oudtshoorn, sign boards on the left. Turn left to
Highgate Show Farm.
FROM OUDTSHOORN
Take Voortrekker Road (R62) west in direction of Cape Town, Calitzdorp,
Mossel Bay.
Just at the outskirts of Oudtshoorn turn left (R328) to Mossel Bay.
Go over the Olifants River Bridge, up the hill and turn right to Highgate Ostrich Show Farm.

Learn all about ostriches, feed one by hand, and watch as our staff expertly demonstrate the various crafts using the ostrich’s exquisite feathers, eggs, and leather. Sit on or even ride an ostrich. You will be in awe with the beauty of your surroundings, with the Klein Karoo valley and the picturesque Swartberg Mountains. Experience the world’s largest bird, the ostrich, which lays the largest egg, has the most beautiful feathers and eyes that make you want to fall in love and hug them. Each ostrich tour has 2 parts – the main yard and the farmlands. • In the main yard, you will be shown different ostrich feathers, the incubators and how they work, gizzard stones, and you can feed the ostriches yourself! • The farmlands are where you will be shown the anatomy of an ostrich, visit the breeding pairs nest and for the brave, you may even get the chance to ride one!The highlight of our tours is when we end off with a traditional ostrich race performed by our professional jockeys. You can take part in our ostrich derby as a spectator along the longest Ostrich race track in the world ! Conclude your tour with a traditional ostrich meal. Meals are served in The Pepper Tree Restaurant located in our historic homestead, with magnificent views of the Klein Karoo valley and picturesque Swartberg Mountains. Guest have the choice between a Classic Meal or a Premium Meal. The Classic Meal Option is a generous 3 course meal where you can taste and enjoy ostrich egg and meat, like you’ve never tasted before. Menu options available on request. The Premier Meal Option is a generous 4 course meal with cheese platter where you can taste and enjoy ostrich and egg and meat, like you’ve never tasted before. Menu options available on request.
