    There’s much to discover in Chemnitz, so let’s start our tour at Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz. This is one of the main Museums of Chemnitz and it hosts a various collection of art. Here, you can also admire the Theater with its modernist architecture which stands a proof that renowned architects such as Helmut Jahn, Hans Kollhoff and Christoph Ingenhoven were involved in the development of a new center. As you are going to see its architecture on the outside, we will be heading for another important landmark of the city. Karl Marx Monument which weighs over 40 tonnes and it’s placed in the city center of Chemnitz. Walk along as our guide will explain the history of this town which is connected with Karl Marx. After Karl Marx Monument you will be heading for the Red Tower. This tower is the symbol of the town and it was built in the 12th century. This red-bricked tower stands as a well preserved landmark, right in the city center and has survived many wars and centuries and is all what is left from the former Chemnitz city wall. Next you are going to pass the Shocken which nowadays stands as an archeology museum. We will finish our tour at Tietz Area, which nowadays stands as a cultural shopping center.
