This Segway tour is designed for people who just want to experience the joy of a great ride without being told stories or history along the way. The professionally trained and certified tour guides will teach and train you how to safely operate a Segway. The tour mostly travels the Seawall on a long ride where you will experience the breeze and smells of the sea. You will have the opportunity to take photographs and video along the way. If you’re lucky, you might even see the dolphins in the ocean.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour time for training SegCity Segway Galveston is located at 25th Street and Church Street, just a few blocks from the Strand and the Cruise Terminals.
Built after the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 for protection from future hurricanes, The Galveston Seawall is a seawall in Galveston, Texas. Construction began in September 1902, and the initial segment was completed on July 29, 1904. From 1904 to 1963, the seawall was extended from 3.3 miles (5.3 km) to over 10 miles (16 km).
The tour briefly visits the Historical District where we will pass the Bishop’s Palace, once called the Gresham’s Castle.
Our guides will show you the much loved Elissa sailing vessel – the official Tall Ship of Texas.
The tour concludes at the Port of Galveston where we can usually observe a breathtaking sunset.
