Surdesti Wooden Church
On the first day, we will drive over the Carpathian Mountains to arrive in the region of Maramures. Here, we visit the tallest wooden church in Surdesti, before visiting a popular artist from the area.

Merry Cemetery
In the afternoon we will visit the Merry Cemetery in Săpânța, which comprises over 300 tombstones with paintings cheerfully depicting scenes from the lives of the deceased.

Barsana Monastery
We visit a new wooden monastery in Barsana. The impressive komplex was built in the 1990s, but carries on the traditional motifs with the naive interior paintings being a surprise.

Day 2
Viseu de Sus - Steam Train - Bogdan Vodă - Sacel - Cluj-Napoca

On the second day we will embark on a breathtaking tour on a steam train, travelling along the secluded, meandering Vaser Valley.

In the afternoon you will visit the beautiful wooden church of Bogdan Voda, before we drive back to Cluj.

Sacel
We visit a traditional pottery maker in Sacel, learning about the trade but also of the tradition running back a couple of generations in this family.
