    Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation area are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to approximately 25,000 large mammals and a huge variety of smaller species making it a target for discerning safari goers. Packed full of game, due to the plentiful water and food available on the crater floor throughout the year. It is estimated that over 24,000 large mammals live in the Ngorongoro Crater. They include waterbucks, African leopards, black rhinos, buffaloes, cheetahs, crocodiles, East African wild dogs, elands, grant’s gazelle, zebra, hippopotamus, impala, lions, oribi, Thomson’s gazelles, topi and wildebeest. Most of these animals remain in the natural enclosure without migrating except for a few wildebeest and elephants. This has led to significant inbreeding in some species like lions. Later in the afternoon you will drive back to Arusha town and drop-off at Point Zone Resort or drive direct to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
