At the bridge, Puente de Triana, your tour guide shall be waiting with a Signboard.
Begin your tour at Puente de Triana, the first permanent bridge to connect the historic centre with the Triana district. Constructed with a distinctive iron arch, the bridge has become one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks and offers beautiful views over the Guadalquivir River.
Your first stop will be the Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, Seville’s historic bullring. Dating from the 18th century, it is considered one of the most important bullfighting arenas in Spain and remains a significant cultural and architectural landmark.
From here, continue through the city centre to Metropol Parasol, popularly known as Las Setas de Sevilla. This remarkable contemporary structure features six large parasol-shaped forms and is recognised as the largest wooden structure in the world. The complex includes archaeological remains, a market, public plaza, and panoramic terraces offering impressive views of the city.
The tour then proceeds to La Giralda, the iconic bell tower of Seville Cathedral. Originally constructed as the minaret of the Great Mosque during the Almohad period, it was later converted into a Christian bell tower after the Reconquista. Today, it stands as one of Seville’s most important historical symbols and forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Adjacent to the tower stands the magnificent Seville Cathedral, officially known as the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See. Completed in the 16th century, it is one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world and a masterpiece of religious architecture.
Nearby, you will pass the Royal Alcázar of Seville, a remarkable royal palace originally developed for King Peter of Castile. The complex showcases a rich blend of architectural styles, including Mudéjar, Gothic, Romanesque, and Renaissance elements, reflecting the city’s diverse cultural heritage.
Next, you will see the Archivo de Indias, an elegant Renaissance building that houses invaluable historical documents relating to the Spanish Empire and its connections with the Americas and the Philippines.
Continuing the tour, you will encounter the Torre del Oro, a military watchtower built by the Almohad Caliphate in the 13th century to help defend the city and control access along the Guadalquivir River.
You will also pass the Royal Tobacco Factory of Seville, an impressive 18th-century stone building representing early industrial architecture and once home to Europe’s first tobacco factory.
The tour concludes with a relaxing walk through María Luisa Park, a beautiful green space along the Guadalquivir River, before arriving at the magnificent Plaza de España, one of Seville’s most iconic landmarks. Built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, the plaza is a stunning example of Regionalist architecture and provides a memorable finale to the tour.
