This experience is designed to cater to friends, family or group (double occupancy minimum) that would like to do a safari game drive without having to necessarily sleep over at the park.
With a total tour duration of 7 hours from Johannesburg, Dinokeng Game Reserve is Gauteng's largest "Big Five" wildlife sanctuary, located 1 hour, 40 minutes north of Johannesburg and 40 minutes from Pretoria.
A game drive session's duration is typically 2 hours and 30 minutes on the open-back 4x4 trucks driven by the resident game ranger, who will narrate fun facts about the park while navigating through the vast, dusty trails.
Popular animal sightings to look forward to are hippos, elephants, rhinos, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, kudus, jackals, impalas, wildebeest, and crocodiles.

1Dinokeng Game Reserve
Dinokeng Game Reserve is Gauteng's largest "Big Five" wildlife sanctuary, 1 hr, 40 minutes north of Johannesburg and 40 minutes from Pretoria. The popular sunrise (5:30 am summer or 6 am winter) or sunset (4 pm summer or 3:30 pm winter) game drives are the best times to look for the Big 5. Duration is typically 2 hrs & 30 minutes on the open-back 4x4 trucks driven by game rangers, who narrate facts about the animals while navigating the terrain. Hippos, Elephants, Rhinos, Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Kudus, Jackals, Impalas, Wildebeest & Crocodiles are among the popular sights to look forward to. Each truck seats a total of 10 adults, so the rangers will have more time to answer all your individual questions about the wildlife. Bottled water & snacks are provided during a mini-break halfway through the tour. Pick up & drop off in an air-conditioned sedan or minivan from your hotel in Johannesburg, Pretoria, or the O. R. Tambo International Airport.
