Your tour begins at 8:00 AM with a visit to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the 12th-century capital built by King Jayavarman VII. Admire the impressive moat, giant stone faces, and statues of gods and demons holding the Naga serpent. Continue to Bayon Temple, famous for its serene, smiling stone faces. Explore nearby temples including Baphuon, home to a massive reclining Buddha; Phimeanakas, the former royal temple; and the Terrace of the Elephants, once used for royal ceremonies. After lunch in Angkor Park, visit the majestic Angkor Wat, the world’s largest Hindu monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. End the day with a scenic sunset from the top of Phnom Bakheng, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire in the 9th century.
Begin your day at 5:00 AM with a sunrise visit to Angkor Wat. Walk across the floating bridge to enter through the West Gate, where you’ll witness the temple reflected in two serene ponds as the sky gradually changes color. After sunrise, your guide will help you find a pleasant spot for breakfast. Then continue to Ta Prohm, the iconic jungle temple made famous by the Tomb Raider movie. Next, explore five remarkable temples on the Grand Circuit: Preah Khan, built in honor of the king’s father; Neak Poan, a small temple on an island representing one of Jayavarman VII’s hospitals; Ta Som, with its picturesque tree-covered gate; East Mebon, an ancestor temple built on an ancient island; and Pre Rup, a majestic brick temple known as the "Turning Body" temple.
