Before entering the sacred grounds of Chichén Itzá, you’ll be welcomed by a local shaman who will perform a traditional limpia—a spiritual cleansing meant to clear negative energy and prepare your spirit for the journey ahead. Surrounded by incense and ancient chants, this ritual offers a moment of connection and renewal. After this meaningful experience, take time to explore a local handicraft market, where talented artisans display handmade crafts full of color, culture, and symbolism—a perfect way to connect with Maya creativity and heritage.
