    Patio de los Naranjos

The Patio de los Naranjos is the atrium of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, a large garden space with fountains and alignments of orange, palm and cypress trees. It is the anteroom to the temple and retains its original function as a courtyard of the Islamic mosque. It highlights the harmony of its design, with irrigation canals and fountains, and the imposing presence of the Bell Tower or former minaret. It is a place of peace and freshness, ideal for enjoying architecture and history.

    Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba

The Islamic prayer hall of the Mosque of Córdoba is a stunning forest of red and white columns and arches that create a sense of infinite depth. Built in the 8th century and expanded later, it stands out for its Mihrab, richly decorated with golden mosaics, and the Maqsura, with caliphal-influenced domes. Its architecture reflects the grandeur of the Caliphate of Córdoba. In the heart of the temple, the Christian Chapel Major breaks with Islamic aesthetics. Built in the 16th century, it has a majestic cruise ship with a Renaissance-Mannerist dome and a Baroque altarpiece. Its carved wooden choir is a masterpiece of Spanish art. Commissioned by Charles V, this chapel symbolizes the transformation of the building into a cathedral and the fusion of two unique styles.
