Arrive in Marrakech, a vibrant and colourful city in Morocco known for its bustling souks, historic palaces, and traditional gardens. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel
A full day tour of Marrakech would include a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech and one of the most important landmarks in the city. The mosque is also known for its minaret, which is the tallest in the city. After visiting the mosque, the tour would take you to the Saadian Tombs, a historic site that contains the graves of members of the Saadian dynasty, who ruled Morocco in the 16th and 17th centuries. The tombs were discovered in 1917 and are known for their intricate decoration and beautiful tilework. Then a visit to the Bahia Palace, a 19th century palace that was built for a wealthy Moroccan nobleman. The palace is known for its intricate tilework and beautiful gardens. The tour would also include a visit to the souks, traditional Moroccan markets where you can find everything from spices and textiles to pottery and jewellery. After a short lunch break, continue to the Jardin Majorelle, a garden designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s
After breakfast we leave Marrakech behind and head to the coastal city of Casablanca. We'll have a day of sightseeing. Walk around the Habous district, where the small squares and narrow arcade streets provide a fine example of contemporary city planning mixed with the maze-like streets of the traditional medina. Continue towards United Nations Place and the majestic Mohammed V Square. Then, go to the lively Central Market and the surrounding Royal Palace. Explore the colorful Habous Quarter and the Mehkma (Tribunal). Visit the Notre Dame de Lourdes cathedral and the famous Hassan II Mosque to experience 2 religious epicenters of the city. End with a pleasant stroll through the residential area of Anfa and shop in the newly built Morocco Mall on the seafront.
This morning we journey to the capital Rabat. Strategically located on the Atlantic coastline, Rabat began as a settlement in the third century BC. This morning we enjoy a tour of the old city including visits to the Royal Palace, Ouadaya Gardens Kasbah and the Hassan Tower Mosque.
Next is ancient Roman city of Volubilis. Recently listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and dating back as far as AD40, Volubilis is home to some of the most impressive Roman ruins in North Africa. We finish the day with a short drive to the mediaeval city of Fez.
After breakfast you will begin our guided tour of the Fes medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. Visit to foundouk Najjarine which houses the ‘Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts. Visit to the Qaraouiyine mosque,which is both a university and a mosque situated in the heart of the Medina. UNESCO has named it the oldest continuously functioning educational institution in the world. See the city’s tannery, a fascinating place that is the largest tannery in Africa. Visit the Mellah or Jewish Quarter and the old Ibn Danan Synagogue, dating from the 17th century. After lunch break, we will resume the tour and return to your hotel.
