Summary of the Cultural Tour (6 Days , 5 Nights)
During this Round Tour we will be sight-seeing areas in the following destinations: Kandy Temple, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, Matale, Aluvihare, Dambulla Cave Temple, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Mihintale.
The guests will be provided with good quality, air conditioned, comfortable vehicles with a driver-guide to help with your tour and free wi-fi. All vehicles will have baby seats available if needed.
We provide hotel accommodations for 5 Nights in good quality hotels varying from Economy / Budget hotels to Standard Hotels to Luxury Hotels. The charges will change depending on your selection.
We will pick you up at the Bandaranaike International Airport and drive directly to Kandy where you will spend the night at a hotel in Kandy.
The next day you will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (also known as Dalada Maligawa) which is one of the most important Temple to visit in Sri Lanka. The significance of the temple is that is houses the relic of the Lord Buddha's tooth. Afterwards, you will visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Enveloped in the Mahaweli River, this 60 hectare botanical garden includes over 4000 types of flora such as orchids, spices, palm trees and medicinal plants. You will then visit the Gem Museum in Kandy.
After breakfast the next morning, you will leave to Sigiriya. On the way, you will visit the Hindu Temple, Matale Aluvihare, Dambulla Cave Temple. The Matale Aluvihare (also known as cave with light) is of great historic importance, tracing back to the 3rd Century B.C. in the reign of King Devanampiyatissa. The Dambulla Cave Temple monastery is still functional and remains the best-preserved ancient edifice in Sri Lanka. You will spend the night at a hotel in Sigiriya.
The next morning we will depart to Polonnaruwa where you will have a safari by Jeep. Polonnaruwa today is a showcase of the great ancient Sri Lankan architecture dating back to the 12th century AD. which was interwoven with many Buddhist monasteries and monuments which were built by the King Parakramabahu I. You will then travel to Anuradhapura where you will spend the night at a hotel.
In the morning you will visit the Thuparamaya, considered to be the first dagaba or pagoda built in Sri Lanka, which enshrines the collarbone of the Lord Buddha. You will visit the Lovamahapaya, also known as the Brazen Palace, located between the Ruwanvaliseya and Sri Maha Bodhiya. Later you will visit Mihintale which is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is believe by Sri Lankas to be the site of meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. You will spend the night at the hotel in Anuradhapura.
We will drop you in Negombo or the Bandaranaike International Airport or any destination you want concluding the end of the tour.
