We’ll start the day with a pick-up from your accommodations within the city. Then we’ll head to the Cu Chi Tunnels, the famous network of underground passageways used during the Vietnam War and Tet Offensive. Learn what the Vietnamese used to engage in guerilla warfare and see how they lived, ate, and defended themselves and their land. You’ll also get to meet a war veteran.
After learning about the significance of the tunnels, we’ll head back to the city and stop for a delicious local lunch before heading to the War Remnants Museum. We’ll walk through the exhibits that showcase paraphernalia relating to the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War, taking in the history of the nation before making our way to our next stop.
Up next is the striking Independence Palace. Also known as the Reunification Hall, this famous landmark was once the home and office of the past presidents of Vietnam. Explore the grand hall and take note of the stunning architecture before moving on to the next destination.
Built by French colonists in the late 1800s, the Notre Dame Cathedral is another famous structure in the center of the city. We’ll marvel at the iconic landmark and take in the beautiful design and architecture of the cathedral.
Our last stop of the day is just across the cathedral at the Central Post Office. This is another building built with a heavy French influence and is known for its striking structure, sweeping ceilings, and many souvenir-selling vendors. We’ll take photos of this grand building and maybe purchase a souvenir or two before heading back to your accommodations.
