If you have a free preparation day in Kathmandu before your Everest Base Camp trek, why not use it to see a little of the city? Trekkers often arrive one day before their Lukla flight, as flights are scheduled early in the morning. This private half-day tour gives you time to visit Chandragiri Hills and Swayambhunath while keeping the rest of the day free for trek preparation and rest.
Take the cable car to Chandragiri Hills for views across Kathmandu Valley and, on a clear day, the Himalayan ranges. Visit Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple and enjoy some time on the hilltop before continuing to Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple.
Explore the historic stupa, prayer wheels and surrounding temples, and enjoy the view over Kathmandu.

Start with a private drive from your hotel to Chandragiri Cable Car station. Take the cable car up to Chandragiri Hills and enjoy views across Kathmandu Valley. You can visit Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, walk around the hilltop and spend some time enjoying the surroundings. Cable car tickets are not included and can be purchased directly at the station.

Continue by private vehicle to Swayambhunath, one of Kathmandu’s well-known cultural and religious sites. Explore the historic stupa, prayer wheels and surrounding temples, and enjoy the view over Kathmandu Valley. The temple is also known as the Monkey Temple because of the monkeys living around the complex. Entrance fee is not included and can be paid directly at the site.
