    Baron Bliss Lighthouse

Henry Edward Ernest Victor Bliss was a British engineer who fell in love with Belize after sailing here during the last 3 months of his life. During that time, he willed 2 million British Honduras dollars to a trust that has since been used to develop key projects in Belize's agricultural, educational and medical sectors. He is known as Belize's greatest benefactor. The lighthouse and grave serves as a historic monument that pays homage to the generosity of Baron Bliss.
