We start from a place that for centuries has been a crossroads of merchants and citizens, we will talk about the Tuscan food tradition of the present and the past, the history of food and how they were consumed in various eras, we will learn how to distinguish the touristic traps and chose the best.

    Our 4 hours small group walking food tour is the perfect experience for either first timer and recurring visitors, every corner you turn has a new story, an interesting fun fact, a gorgeous building, piece of art that cannot be missed. In at least 7 eateries we will taste the most amazing food from salty ham to sweet almond cookies, from aromatic olive oil to sweet fried bread, from sophisticated balsamic vinegar to peasant soups, from the ruby red color of the chianti wine to the intense amber’s hue of the Vin Santo. Meet our fully qualified English-speaking tour guide at 11am to start this amazing experience, wander the fresh market at the discover of the traditional lampredotto meat, observe the fresh pasta making process and taste the just ready ravioli, learn how to discern the good virgin olive oil. After this explosive starting it will only go better, it’s now time to taste a huge mouthwatering “tagliere” of pecorino cheese and cured meat choosing the perfect wine to enhance the flavors, then let’s try the traditional vegetable and tomatoes soup also matched with the most proper wine; it’s now time to indulge our sweet tooth, have you ever heard of the sweet fried bread? At the end of such a culinary outstanding experience 2 things cannot be missed: a refreshing artisanal ice-cream and a strong espresso coffee. During the tour our knowledgeable guide will tell the history of the famous Medici family and how they facilitate the develop of the Italian Renaissance, we will admire the San Lorenzo church, the incredible Duomo complex with the baptistry, the bell tower and the incredible Brunelleschi dome, last but not least let’s admire the Santa Croce church also known as the temple of Italian glories being the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, the poet Foscolo, the philosopher Gentile and the composer Rossini.
