  We will walk through this square in the Carmelitas neighborhood, also known as Plaza de los Leones because of the fountain we will find there. In this square there are several important buildings, such as the Carmo and dos Carmelitas churches or the University of Porto.

  Igreja do Carmo

  Church built between 1756 and 1762 by José de Figueiredo Seixas. Rococo style and granite façade, we will observe its enormous tiles that cover its side.

  We will visit this temple next to the Igreja do Carmo, which is why both are known as the Twin Churches. It dates back to the 17th century and its style is quite different from its "sister church", although it is also characterized by its striking blue tiles.

  Torre dos Clerigos

  We are in front of the tallest tower in Portugal, the work of Nicolau Nasoni and built between 1735 and 1748. During the 200 steps up you can find 49 bells until you reach some of the best views of Porto.
