This full-day excursion to Cleopatra Island offers departures from hotels in both Marmaris and Icmeler. On the way to the island you’ll stop for swimming breaks in Incekum Bay and near Fenerli Island.
Enjoy the warm turquoise waters and stunning views of Gokova Bay. A delicious BBQ lunch will be served back on board, and includes chicken or meat balls, spaghetti, salad, and seasonal fruits.
With 3 hours or more of free time on Cleopatra Island, you’ll be able relax on the white sand beach, take a leisurely walk through the olive groves, and explore the ruins of the Roman amphitheater and fortifications.
The island’s sands are legendary and are believed to have been imported by Mark Anthony as a gift to his lover Cleopatra. This unique sand cannot be found anywhere else in the world: the grains are so tiny and shiny that the beach on Cleopatra Island was declared a National Conservation Area. It is not permitted to take any sand with you when leaving the island.

When the tour starts, you will first be driven through the stunning natural scenery of Çamli village, which is about 25 km from Marmaris. After this short and comfortable ride, you will board our beautiful double-decker boat and begin your cruise through the Gulf of Gokova.
Marmaris Icmeler Cleopatra Island Boat Trip begins with a visit to the charming village of Çamlı, which is about 17 km north of Marmaris city. You will travel in our spacious and comfortable minibus and enjoy the beautiful scenery of green fields and emerald pine forests. Once we arrive in Çamlı, we board our boat and sail across the Gulf of Gokova.
Our second visit is to Ince Kum, a national park well known in this region for its fine golden sand and transparent turquoise water. Ince Kum actually means ‘fine sand’ in Turkish. We will take our first 40 minute swim break at this beautiful beach for you to snorkel, swim or just sunbathe on the beach.
Next we visit a very popular bay on the Gulf of Gokova, Deep Blue Bay. The water here is particularly deep, giving them that royal blue hue, hence the name Deep Blue Bay. Due to its depth and location, this beautiful bay is also a popular stopping point for yachts.
Cleopatra Beach is under government protection and visitors are not allowed to take sand with them. It is even forbidden to spread your towels out on the beach as the sand will stick to them. Legend has it that the pale pink sand on this beach was brought by ships from North Africa to please Cleopatra. Apparently this type of sand only exists in Egypt and Mark Anthony sent it here because Cleopatra was nostalgic and homesick. In the eastern part of this magnificent island there is an agora where, according to inscriptions, sporting festivals were organized.
