The tour guide will pick you up at Yogyakarta International Airport. Begin the tour of Yogyakarta city with the following highlights: Kraton Yogyakarta Royal Palace: A symbol of Javanese power and culture, which preserves many unique ceremonies and traditional values.
Tamansari Water Castle: A beautiful ancient site associated with unique historical architecture from the Mataram dynasty. Guests will have lunch and dinner at local restaurants, then proceed to the hotel for check-in and relaxation.
After breakfast, depart for Cangkringan Village — an area on the slopes of Mount Merapi that was heavily affected by the 2010 eruption. The trip includes: Visit the Merapi Volcano Museum – learn about the history of eruptions and the power of nature. Built with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, it opened on October 1, 2009, and displays artifacts and information about Mount Merapi.
Visit Borobudur Temple, Mendut Temple, and Pawon Temple – three world-famous Buddhist structures.
On the way back, stop to enjoy Salak Pondoh (snake fruit) – a famous specialty of Yogyakarta. Guests will have lunch and dinner at local restaurants and stay overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, the group continues the journey to: Batik Village: Visit a traditional Batik craft village, learn about the sophisticated manual fabric dyeing process, and enjoy local tea and Luwak coffee.
Kotagede Town: An ancient town famous as the center of silver handicrafts in Yogyakarta. This place still preserves about 170 ancient structures built from 1700 to 1930; therefore, Kotagede is known not only as the "Silver City" but also as the Ancient Capital of the region. Kasongan Pottery Village and Sunset at Parangtritis Beach: Explore the famous craft pottery village with exquisite handicraft products, then move to Parangtritis Beach to admire the stunning sunset by the Indian Ocean. In the evening, have dinner at a local restaurant and stay overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you are free at leisure until check-out time (12:00 PM). Approximately 3 hours before your flight, the group will be picked up from the lobby and transferred to Yogyakarta airport for your departure procedures.
