Nearly 7 millions vehicles in this city, crazy rush hour make the traffic hardly move every day. Good thing is the subways system is very advanced in Beijing and most city hotels locate within 10 minutes walking distance to its station. Please refers to your hotel subway map before select this tour. Tour starts at emperor's former residence at Forbidden City and ends their royal garden at Summer Palace. A lots of history walk today including the walk from Forbidden City to subway station.

Please be aware of though we start at non-rush hour time, it could be crowded too. Also this tour will involve in a lots of walking, it could be 5-6 kilometers (3.5 miles) long. Therefore, it's not good for kids or aged.

1Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)
Tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby or capital airport. Then you will follow tour guide to take subway to Summer Palace. The Summer Palace is a monument to classical Chinese architecture, in terms of both garden design and construction. In December 1998, it was inscribed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO, which commented as follows: 1) The Summer Palace in Beijing is an outstanding expression of the creative art of Chinese landscape garden design, incorporating the works of humankind and nature in a harmonious whole; 2) The Summer Palace epitomizes the philosophy and practice of Chinese garden design, which played a key role in the development of this cultural form throughout the east; 3) The imperial Chinese garden, illustrated by the Summer Palace, is a potent symbol of one of the major world civilizations. At present, the Summer Palace has become one of the top famous tourist attractions in Beijing and China.

2Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)
We will then take subway (about 40mins ride) to Tiananmen Square from Summer Palace. It is situated in the centre of Beijing City. It is the original gate of the Imperial Palace (more commonly known as the Forbidden City). Thousands of people come to the Square everyday. Tiananmen Square and its surroundings are a must-see for people visiting China. Aside from the beautiful structures, breathtaking monuments and flowers, there is a lot to learn about the history of one of the oldest cultures in the world.

3Forbidden City-The Palace Museum
The Forbidden City used to be the residence for the Emperors (24 emperors in total) in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. It occupies 72 hectares (180 acres) and takes about 2 hours to see the whole palace museum. Since Forbidden city is closed on Monday, so we will take you to see Olympic park instead if you would come on Monday. (Pay extra if you want to go inside the stadium. )
