We booked with high expectations, but were very disappointed with the food quality as well as the staff’s attitude and poor service standards.
Nothing was good except the location. But there are many other similar quality hotels around the location. So we would never recommend this hotel to anyone ever again.
The staff, people are more than excellent there!
The extremely friendly and attentive staff, the wonderful Sultan Villa, the fresh and excellent food, the beautiful park, the pool area… simply everything!
This was the nicest venue I stayed in during my time in Zanzibar. The team are always looking after you and ensuring you are comfortable. The beach/pool area is so relaxing and beautiful. As a solo female traveller I was worried I wouldn’t feel relaxed, but honestly this resort is just perfect! Huge shout out to Jumani - a true gentleman
The resident cats for me were fantastic, so friendly and desperate for attention and soooo cute!
Really great value for money and I’ve already booked to come back in December!
I would recommend doing the reef walking one afternoon with Juma. He knows all the spots to find starfish and makes you laugh every step of the way!
Gibt also immer eine Liege.
Outstanding place to stay! Very quiet and relaxed. Staff was wonderful.
Fantastic place. Friendly staff, great flavors, and service. We enjoyed everything, especially that there was no crowd:) The maximum number of guests is 18. The garden with the monkeys and other animals is paradise. The monkeys are not aggressive, like in Kenya. They don't steal:) The beach when we were there was unfortunately full of seaweed, but I think it was because of the time of year (March)
The staff here are absolutely wonderful, the service is fantastic, the room was perfect and my stay was relaxing!
This is the place to stay if you just want 100% downtime and quiet. I had planned a very ambitious and busy stay in Stone Town following my stay here, so I wanted this portion of my trip to be relaxed. I couldn't have chosen a better place for peace and quiet. The premises is really pretty and I walked around a lot, seeing Red Colobus and Blue Sykes Monkeys and petting the various cats. In the evening, the air smells incredible . There isn't much of an ocean beach area, but there is a long floating pier that is nice to walk out on and the pool is kept beautifully. This is a small boutique hotel and there were only 4 other people there when I stayed, which contributed to the quiet. I did not take advantage of the spa services while I was there and can't review it.
What a magical place to stay. The rooms are big, clean and tastefully decorated. The surroundings are so peaceful, full of greenery, its as if you're in the jungle. We saw the red colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and even a bush baby at night time just all in the hotel grounds! There are not many rooms there so it feels ever so personal and the staff treat you like family. We loved the tranquility of the place, no screaming children in sight, and you can just relax. There are beautiful views of the sea, yes the beach is rocky but you can swim at high tide. Food was excellent, compliments to the chef and all the kitchen staff. Service has been excellent all round and the staff can't do enough to help and make you feel welcome. My only suggestion would be that I would hope the hotel would offer more eco-conscious tours, I think the sort of guests that would stay in this sort of hotel would appreciate this more. We went on one tour from the hotel to Mnemba island and it was so overcrowded and over-toured it really wasn't a great experience. They are many other independent eco-conscious tours such as to Chumbe Island and to Tumbatu Island where we were the only boat there snorkelling. Other than that, Zanzibar is beautiful and what better way to experience this than staying at this special hotel. Thank you to all the staff.
The location, service, staff and food were all excellent. I couldn’t fault anything. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.
Nothing
The best hotel I've ever been to! Amazing staff - not intrusive but very helpful. Diverse, delicious food. Beautiful, spacious room. Unbelievable garden with monkeys and bushbabies. Spa with a wide range of massages. Last but definitely not least, lots of cuddly cats :)
I recommend this hotel to everyone who looks for some peace
Superb! This has by far been the most luxurious and calm hotel stay my husband and I have ever experienced. If you are lucky enough to find an available room/villa here - book!!
The area and gardens are so beautiful and well kept. The staff is amazing, so calm, personable, happy and polite. The food is amazing with a new theme every night. The rooms and villa (we got to see both) are stunning. The spa treatments are great. Each time we had a question, the whole staff, and when applicable even the manager, were so engaged in helping us.
We thought that we during our stay in Zanzibar would want to visit different beaches, but we decided to stay in the hotel and the beach here every day since it was so perfect. Paradise! We did not want to check out.
