RVH is a “home” away from home. It’s a pleasant place of rest ( except for the occasional neighborhood dog but that’s rare). The food is great and the staff is always outstanding. Alice looked to all of my needs and was so very considerate.

Originally chosen for its excellent location for the given purpose, the little hotel turned out to be a hidden gem with extremely helpful, friendly staff and a true family atmosphere. The rooms were a bit dark and lacked a desk, but there is a lounge that guests can use, which made up for the smallish rooms. Breakfast was plenty and lovingly prepared; likewise, there is a restaurant that serves mainly local food at very fair prices.
Set near the top of Lubowa hill, Royal Victoria is quiet and very relaxing with a plant filled compound.
The staff made me feel at home with daily chats on my needs (meals, etc). It's good value for money for a relaxing break.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for the activities we were involved in at the international school. The breakfast was wonderful. We felt very safe. Gave us water bottles everyday. Exterior building is beautiful.
The mattress was fabric over springs. Extremely uncomfortable. We had to use the bed cover to put under the sheet just to add a little padding. There are very loud dogs that bark throughout the night. They can't fix that but make sure to bring ear plugs. It could definitely be cleaner. Webs in every window corner. Little dirt piles from ants in floor corners. Dangly things in the shower. It could definitely use some updating. The room just had an old motel feel.
Comfortable, cosy and very clean rooms. Authentically wonderful breakfast. Different each morning. Pleasant and helpful staff. A real delight to stay over.
