Did use it as there was no water in the pool and this was the reason for booking and booking.com still have the message for this property saying pool closed until 15 June 2025 we arrived on 1 July 2025.
We had to find somewhere else as this is the reason for my booking neither the hotel or booking.com have acknowledged my complaint
The fact the pool had no water and was cordoned off. Decor inside very dark
The hotel is located in the main pedestrian area of Sitia, and very central. I was warmly welcomed to the hotel on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They have a restaurant just across for the hotel on the seafront and a pool with small bar serving drinks and food on the roof.
Nothing, but the rooms can suffer from noise, due to it's location, children play late at night.
Very nice view the owner vefy helpful .
Nothing
The staff is nice and accommodated as good as they could any wishes we had. The location was OK with a lovely view over the Aegean with a nearby beach at 5 minutes by car away.
The facilities are quite old and could need some refurbishing. The fridge was noisy during the night, as well as the air-conditioner. The water has not a lot of pressure in the shower. This makes it hard for the hair washing.
Spacious apartment with a large balcony and a good view of the coast. Nice pool which was never busy. Owners were lovely and helpful. Easy walk to tavernas and supermarket.
The beds were incredibly hard. Lack of plug sockets.
The view, location, owners - absolutely lovely and generous people!!! We would definitely come back! It’s everything you need - we loved Arkasa and everyone we met there!
Enjoy your coffee at Kozi Café & Bar, have fun at the beach with Surfvival and rent a car with Auto Moto Center!
George is a warm, helpful & extremely accommodating host. Even though the rooms are no longer very modern, they were clean, well maintained and offered everything you need (stove, fridge, dishes, Air-Con,...) There are books to borrow and a pool with sun loungers and umbrellas to linger in. The view from our balcony of Arkasa Bay and the sunsets were beautiful :-)
Elevated location where all rooms had a view of the sea, which was close by. Nice swimming pool which was cleaned regularly. The owners were delightful, very welcoming and went out of their way to make our holiday memorable.
Nothing
Decent hotel with a fantastic view both to the sea and the mountains behind. Good value for money. There is a small swimming pool, a car is necessary to go to a beach.
Nothing to dislike.
The host was friendly and very helpful from the very start. The room was perfect size and well equipped with an AC, small bathroom, small kitchennette with a refrigerator and a balcony with a beautiful view of the sea. Since the balcony was facing West, the room remained cool before noon and a had an unforgettable view of the sunset in the evening.
The towels were exchanged every two days and the room was cleaned every four days.
The closest beach was about 20 min away by foot through the beautiful town of Arkasa. The supermarket was just a few meters away and had all the necessities.
I highly recommend Yiannis Hotel for a calm holiday in Arkasa on a tight budget.
As the Hotel was in old-style, the sink in the bathroom was leaking at times, but that was not crucial.
The Wifi in the Hotel was only strong enough to receive and send messages, as it should be on a holiday.
The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking. Some of the best sunsets I've ever seen. The pool was so nice and the owner was kind and sweet. Spacious room. Extremely good value for money even in the high season. A few mins walk to the village with it's lovely tavernas, and cafes. About a 30 min easy walk to a lovely beach Finiki. This place is a real gem.
Unfortunately the beds were a bit hard for me, but the owner said if we come back he could give us a blanket to put down to try to make it softer. Kitchenette is rather old and basic. But you really can't complain given the price, location and stunning views!
The fantastic view (of course) and the location which is a bit up hill and in a more quiet area of the town. We also really liked the hosts who were always very kind and helpful. We‘d love to come back!

I loved everything about Yiannis hotel. The people were so welcoming and kind. Room was very clean and spacious with the most beautiful view of the ocean. It is in a lovely area with nice restaurants surrounding and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. I will definitely be back!
