The property was undergoing renovation and not ready for occupancy during our stay. This hotel definitely not 3.5 stars.
Excelente atención y ubicación.
Muy tranquilo el hotel
Pros: Room was clean, nice view of ruines and central location. Cons: Very low pressure hot water. Unexpectedly, the entire hotel was under renovation. There was no one at the front desk 95% of the time. Price was more than Casa Adina Standard in Miraflores but 50% of the value. Breakfast was very basic, 2 eggs, instant coffee, juice and bread. I did a lot of research and this looked like the best value in the area. Should have gotten a discount because of the noise and clutter from the renovations.
We had a great stay at Sol Miranda! Cesar was always around to help us with any questions we had, and the view from our room was beautiful. Can highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Ollantaytambo.
Staff was very helpful. Power went out the morning of departure, but we understand it was not a fault of the hotel. Water gets turned off at night, so if you use the bathroom during the night, it will not flush until around 5:30 am.
Great view. overlooking the ruins of Ollantaytambo. Staff was very helpful.
Everything from the disheveled guy who checked us in, to the water stoppage every night, to the toilet that clogged, to the inability to modulate water temp, to the shower door that didn’t shut to the mold in the sink to having to ask for additional toilet paper again and again. to the cold coffee at breakfast indicated a place that no one runs or cares about. Utter neglect! The view from the Executive Suite was beautiful, but the overall feel of the place ruined our stay in Sacred Valley. Please STAY AWAY.
We stayed for 2 nights and the staff were very accommodating. Our son got sick and they recommended muña tea and directed us to the nearest pharmacy. The hot water is also regulated by the town and it is cut off from around 1am and back at 6am. The staff (Cesar) helped my friend and stocked water for her since she had to leave for the Inca Trail at 0400. The location is very near town and the Ollantaytambo ruins. Also walking distance to the train to Aguas Calientes. We will stay again if we're in the area.
Very nice staff. Water supply was interrupted in the night.
Great location. Staff was friendly and helpful
The accommodations catered to our needs that required two separate reservations before and after our hike to the Machu Pichu. The hotel stored our luggage free of charge without requiring us to pay for a room! The breakfast was nice and Sessa arranged for us to have our laundry cleaned at a nominal price. I highly recommend!
Very nice and comfortable place with nice Mountain View’s.
Had a 2 night stay. Perfect central location, 10 minutes walk to train station. View of Ruins from
Hotel room. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
Disappointing
Central location and pleasant staff but this hotel is not 3*, certainly not boutique and has nothing to justify the 3* price.
Breakfast was meagre, rooms dated, bedside lights didn’t work at all, plugs faulty, lukewarm shower (leave it to run and it got there eventually) paint peeling from the entire ceiling in the bathroom. Some cleanliness issues and musty pillows. Right on the road so noisy late into the night. View of the ruins didn’t impress.
Wanted to like it but very disappointing stay, the worst hotel of a 2 week trip. Shame as the hotel has potential; staff need to work to address basic issues.
Staff are so friendly, The hotel is close to everything. Nice warm water in the shower. Thank you so much.
Great little hotel right in the heart of town! The only thing is if you are a light sleeper, there is a bar next door, which you can hear till about midnight. Didn’t bother me, but my wife said it kept her up a little.
It was a 10 minute straight walk to the train station, the archeological site was a five minute walk ($45 US for a private tour guide), and right near a lot of restaurants.
The hotel arranged a taxi to pick us from Cusco airport, took us to the salt mines and moray, and delivered us to the hotel! So easy and worry free, made the vacation hassle free.
Great location, nice rooms with a view of the ruins, great beds, very nice bathroom. Staff was amazing. Nicely remodeled, very clean and charming. Nice buffet breakfast, nice service.
Suggestions to improve the experience: make the instructions for the wifi and how to use the tv remote more clear. But the front desk guy came right away and explained things to us. He was very professional and friendly.
Rooms are decent with a beautiful view.
The hotel is located in the MOST busy street, if you don't mind the noise, well this is a place for you.
The breakfast "buffet" is mediocre, the picture you see on their website, it's a lie, i had to request some fruits and oatmeal.
TV's control in the rooms are a bit complicated, expect 45mins to figured it out.
The hotel was in a very convenient area. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good.
The best hotel in Ollantaytambo! The hotel was close to everything, the city center, the plaza, and the train station (to Machu Picchu). Our room had the beautiful view of the mountains and an historical site. The facilities were sufficient, and when we needed more, we go them.
We were lucky to meet the owners Alicia and Mike. They were super helpful and knowledgeable. They speak great English! I wish I had more time, and can practice some Wing Chun with Mike who is a Sifu...
