According to Colombian law, only nonresident tourists are eligible for VAT exemption. To confirm tourist status at check-in, you may present the immigration stamp in your passport or the Andean Immigration Card or Mercosur Card, which details the foreign visitor's entry into Colombia (date and type of entry). Alternatively, follow immigration authorities' verification instructions.
Colombian citizens holding dual nationality are not considered foreign tourists or nonresident visitors in Colombia and therefore do not qualify for VAT refunds (as per Article 1.6.1.23.3 of Decree 1067/2015).
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the obligation to pay the tax upon arrival at the hotel.

No fue una buena estadia
La noche que nos quedamos con mi esposa, hubo una fiesta en el habitel de al lado que en las habitaciones vibraban los vidrios y el ruido era DEMASIADO. El aire acondicionado no servia, y a la 1 de la mañana nos llevaron un ventilador que hacia mas ruido que la misma fiesta. Nos fue pesimo
The hotel is very clean and modern, room was spacious and clean, though drains smelled bad in bathroom.
The airport shuttle service is great, and the driver was very nice and helpful.
The check-in was quite cold. No offer to help with bags, which I think would be normal for a hotel with this rating, especially in such a large place where rooms can be far away.
Endlich einmal Handduschen, die man auch oben aufhängen kann, und ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstücksbüffet in schönem Ambiente, großes Zimmer, alles sehr schön mit ausreichend Lampen und Steckdosen, Shuttle ist auch sehr praktisch

El hotel no implementa la exención del IVA a colombianos residentes en el exterior según el concepto 3522 de 2025 de la Dian, a pesar de que mi esposa y yo presentamos la documentación emitida por el país en el que residimos.
Debido a esto conversé en dos ocasiones con los respectivos gerentes de turno para demostrar que el requerimiento del hotel de presentar el pasaporte con sello no está indicado en el concepto 3522 de la Dian. Allí se indica claramente que los colombianos residentes en el exterior deben presentar un documento que demuestre la residencia en un país extranjero.
Sin embargo, mi solicitud no fue aceptada y en la última conversación la gerente de turno me ofreció escalarla con el equipo contable y posteriormente darme una respuesta, lo cual no ha ocurrido.
Debido a esto solicito nuevamente una respuesta a mi requerimiento y una implementación adecuada del concepto de la Dian mencionado anteriormente.
