The design, room and the friendly staff and of course the amazing breakfast
Great location and very quiet considering where it is. Not being on a main road by the lake has definitely got advantages.
Very comfortable beds, pool is a lovely oasis in the city and a few of our group had spa services which they enjoyed. Breakfast was very nice. We chose to eat out for dinner 2 nights just to experience the city. The Temple and lake are very close as are many gem shops and it’s easy to access a couple of tea factories. Reception kindly organised our departure van to Colombo.
The staff were very helpful . We would recommend this hotel if you want to be in Kandy :)
It would have been nice to have a cold beer there in the hotel but it is inside the Temple zone and so we totally respected that and found plenty of options nearby :) It’s also a gentle reminder that we probably don’t need to drink !!There are excellent at other options to drink.

Looked much more promising online. Carpets in the hallway and elevator were offputting. Worst breakfast in Sri Lanka, e.g we found a handful of sad potatoe wedges available. Waffle took a long time to prepare, despite only few guests were around.

The hotel has Japanese cuisine but Indian cuisine is missing.
