Um 04:00 Uhr morgens ging der Feueralarm los. Zunächst informierte jedoch niemand die Hotelgäste darüber, was passiert war. Erst als wir bemerkten, dass es sich tatsächlich um einen Brand handeln musste, öffneten wir unsere Zimmertür. Das gesamte Treppenhaus im 3. Obergeschoss war bereits mit dichtem Rauch gefüllt. Die Sicht betrug praktisch null.

Wir mussten uns am Treppengeländer festhalten und tasteten uns Stockwerk für Stockwerk nach unten. Fluchtwegmarkierungen waren im Rauch nicht mehr erkennbar, eine funktionierende Rauchabzugs- oder Treppenhausentlüftung war ebenfalls nicht festzustellen. Es gab lediglich die Sirene und ein rotes Alarmlicht. Wir krochen teilweise durch den dichten Rauch und fanden glücklicherweise den Ausgang. Wenige Meter mehr im Rauch, und wir wären vermutlich bewusstlos geworden. Noch Stunden später husteten und erbrachen wir den eingeatmeten Rauch.

Vor dem Hotel versammelten sich sämtliche Gäste auf der gegenüberliegenden Strassenseite. Niemand vom Hotel erschien. Es gab keine Informationen, keine Betreuung, keine Sicherheitsanweisungen und keinen Verantwortlichen. Schliesslich riefen Hotelgäste selbst die Feuerwehr. Diese traf gefühlt erst rund eineinhalb Stunden später ein. Inzwischen drang Rauch aus den Fenstern des Hotels. Flammen waren zwar keine sichtbar, doch hätte sich das Feuer ausgebreitet, wären die Fluchtmöglichkeiten aus den oberen Stockwerken äusserst kritisch gewesen.

Die Feuerwehr begann sofort mit Atemschutzgeräten den Einsatz und betrat das Gebäude mehrmals. Erst gegen 06:00 Uhr erschien der Hotelmanager bzw. Besitzer mit seinem Motorrad. Dies erfuhren wir allerdings erst später, als ich ihn persönlich ansprach. Er unterhielt sich ausschliesslich mit der Feuerwehr und schenkte den wartenden Hotelgästen keinerlei Aufmerksamkeit. Es gab weder Informationen noch Wasser oder Decken für die vielen Gäste und Kinder, die seit 04:00 Uhr draussen standen.

Pros:

Cudowna obsługa i czystość. Blisko morza, sporo miejsca na plaży. Blisko do autobusu, który jedzie do Chanii. Bardzo dobre śniadania, basen niewielki ale codziennie sprzątany. Blisko do sklepów i restauracji.
