We had such a great experience. Both Eduardo & Fernando were so helpful & accommodating. This was my third stay & it was an elegant & very comfortable way to celebrate mom’s birthday.
Nothing! Great place, staff, amenities.
Unique, fun hotel
Very comfortable Hotel with nice roof Top Bar and Pool. Hotel staff was very friendly. Close to Shops and. Restaurant at Coconut Grove.
Roof top pool and bar. Lovely room with good service.
Restaurant quite small.
The staff were wonderful, and the architecture is world-class. Unfortunately, the suite we were in felt very neglected. The windows needed serious cleaning, and the upholstery was faded, torn, and/or stained. It was also fairly noisy at night, due to loud partying in the neighborhood on the weekend nights, and general traffic noise other times. With some TLC, this could be a world-class hotel, but it definitely wasn't worth the price, and did not feel like a luxury hotel like it probably used to be.
5+ The service is excellent. Nikole is a fabulous yoga teacher. Breakfast has been perfect. Gym has everything needed. Spectacular little oasis.
Phenomenal stay. A great mix of luxury and home feeling. Staff, especially Fernando, personally went above and beyond.
We landed in Miami because we could not get back to the West Coast due to the many airline cancellations. The greeters were very nice and helpful. They also made some great restaurant recommendations. The neighborhood is wonderful, family-friendly, and feels very safe. The hotel's vibe and architecture are iconic — really a work of art. The rooftop pool and bar offered a serene, yet fun, escape. Really, a wonderful experience, and I was happy to get to see this slice of Miami life. I would love to come back.
The only negative was that we asked for a late checkout and were denied. Its' OK to be denied because of staffing arrangements. However, we were told that the hotel was "fully booked". It was not even close to being booked and/or busy on a Tuesday. Management, please don't tell your employees to lie, have them say "unfortunately we cannot accommodate your request, but we have these options...." Lying has become too commonplace these days; let's all do better. (As a side, we met people at the pool, who just didn't ask and brought their suitcases up to the pool, stayed the afternoon, and changed in the changing rooms. And no, they did not ask permission.)
No doubt, the location is great if you want to be in the heart of Coconut Grove. However, be prepared for dark, dated rooms with no view. It was so dim in the room, it made me think it wasn’t clean. Our room was not cleaned the next day, even when we were asked what time we wanted the room to be cleaned. The music from the wedding downstairs kept us up. I understand that there are lots of weddings at this location and they are allowed to play music until 11:00 pm. Many of our invoices were incorrect and we are still trying to sort it out. Fernando (at check-in) was very nice but ultimately had to “punt” issues up to management to follow up on.
We stayed almost a whole week and loved the Mayfair as our base to explore Miami!
It is in a perfect location and was a wonderful upscale experience when it was newly remodeled…but it is falling off badly and not maintaining its quality level while still being quite expensive.
Our room had numerous issues, from the cooling system making loud knocking noises that wake you up in the middle of the night, to a shower door that hit the wall preventing it from closing, to the claw foot rub stopper not working, to large construction sharpie marks defacing the floor.
Any one of these issues would make the almost $600/night price seem excessive, but all of them together made it outrageous.

I wanted to wait a week since returning from my trip to this hotel in order to render a fair assessment, not one based on immediate feelings. To be fair, this place merits a very average rating, by no means terrible, but a place in need of fixing. Let me elaborate.
To start with, the front desk. There isn’t any! It’s just a circular table manned by one or two workers, though it could be mistaken for a work area for the guests. There is nothing inviting about it. Very odd.
So now we move onto the room itself in which there is a very dangerous situation: the shower. It is not a walk-in shower, but rather an old fashioned bathtub. And an extremely high one at that. It was not easy to get in by any stretch. Once in, it was quite slippery with nary a grab bar in site. I’m in my early 60s, in excellent health and I really don’t see how an elderly person can use it. Finally, there is no door to the shower. The water was flying everywhere and piling up on the floor! Once again, very, very, odd.
The rest of the room was situated nicely, but it was way too dark. It was really difficult to read anything without going right up to the light. We had to use our flashlights on our cells to see items in our bags. Beyond odd.
There were good points: The hotel itself is picturesque with greenery everywhere. (Though since it is open air, it gets cool at times.) The pool was nicely heated, the staff attentive. The balcony or outdoor area was the highlight. The hotel itself is centrally located.
But in end, I cannot get past the above-mentioned issues and thus cannot recommend this place.
I very rarely write reviews, but our stay at the Mayfair was flawless. It is such a beautiful building and our room was absolutely gorgeous. As mentioned in other places, people like Fernando made it a truly special experience.
The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the balcony was so cozy and private. Cannot wait to go back!
David was amazing. Kind, efficient, professional. Everything! We arrived early, had all sorts of naive questions. He was patient and everything worked out. Fantastic!
The hotel is beautiful and the front desk staff are a pleasure to deal with. The room is amazing and clean. The hotel restaurant has delicious food as well and complimentary breakfast every morning! The only bad part is paying $600 for the room and not being able to use the additional benefits through AMEX hotel collection. Would not offer a room upgrade after asking every day of the stay. Got strung along with the response of "check back tomorrow we show availability"
La ubicación, la habitación excelente.
El desayuno puede mejorar.
