Sheraton Stockholm Hotel

Alrighty, I have been looking forward to writing this review because of how happy my wife and I were with this hotel and the people who work here.
If you are looking for a great value hotel, in an ideal location in Stockholm that employs a tremendous work force, who goes out of their way to make your stay memorable, then look no further than staying at the Sheraton Stockholm.
Over the course of my career, I have been fortunate to travel internationally on numerous occasions. As a loyal Marriott member with status, I really get excited when I stay at a 'GREAT' Marriott hotel. This Sheraton is a great hotel.
First off the hotel is in a great location, ie. 7-10 minute walk from the train station (train to/from airport ideal), 7-10 minute walk to the walking area shops of Stockholm and 7-10 minute walk to Glamla Stan.
What really makes the hotel stand out is its employees. The person who checked us in (unfortunately I didn't record her name) was wonderful, pleasant, professional and welcoming.
The Sheraton was nice enough to upgrade us based on my status. The room we got had a wonderful view and was spacious.
After checking in, we stopped by and spoke to the concierge, Fanny. Fanny is a gem. She was incredibly helpful and really made our stay in Stockholm wonderful. She provided us a number of recommendations for places to eat, to include StureHof (gem) and Osterlanggatan 17 (gem). Both were in walking distance to the hotel. Fanny also made reservations for us at both places (reservations are a must) and made sure that even we (because we often get lost the minute we exit the hotel door) couldn't get lost. Fanny also recommended the chicken at the hotel bar (Sally's) as a quick bite to eat. The chicken was everything Fanny said it would be, ie delicious. Anyhow, thank you Fanny for all your assistance and thank you Sheraton for hiring people such as her.
Also a big shout out to the people working at the 'executive lounge'. The staff at the lounge were fantastic and included, but not limited to, Heaven, Mireya, Abdul and a gentleman who has been at the hotel for more than 20 years (sorry I forgot his name as well.) The staff at the lounge did a fantastic job of keeping the food, desserts and alcohol stocked. By the way, the food, desserts and wine were all excellent/delicious.
The breakfast options in the morning were extensive, delicious. The chef who handled the omelettes/eggs was pleasant, efficient and went out of his way to deliver the orders.
Not only does this hotel has a great breakfast, great happy hour and great employees, to include cleaning crew, the two floor gym with a really nice sauna was really impressive.
The blinds in the hotel room block out any light so you will get a relaxing wonderful night sleep. The only improvement might be the antiquated shower/bath. If you have mobility issues, you may want to bring that to the staff's attention as getting into and out of the bath might be an issue.
My two top Sheraton's that I have ever had the pleasure to stay in are in Lisbon, Portugal and now Stockholm, Sweden.

If we ever get an opportunity to visit Stockholm in the future, I am hoping that you all have vacancy so that we can get another opportunity to stay with you.

Good value from my perspective. After considering to stay at the Grand I saw the price of the Sheraton was half that rate. The Sheraton is a Marriott property so I got points. It offered a great view of Stockholm and the breakfast that was included was outstanding. I especially enjoyed the omelette bar and latte machine.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The staff was accommodating and friendly. I enjoyed the bar and restaurant
which was busy but not overcrowded.

I would definitely stay at the Sheraton again if we return to Stockholm.

I would gladly give the Sheraton Stockholm a five star rating except for the predatory taxi drivers sitting at the curb right in front of the hotel, who charge 8X the going rate of $50 (that is, $400) to take guests to the airport. Although a sign is listed near the revolving doors asking guests to book taxis through the hotel, nothing is said to guests at checkin or checkout about these drivers and the drivers take your bags to their vehicle as soon as you exit. If you're in a hurry you won't see the sign and won't have time to check rates.
